6. Balmain

Balmain is a french fashion house founded in 1946 by Pierre Balmain. He dressed many celebrities including the Queen Sirikit of Thailand. Balmain died in 1982 and than the brand was led by Erik Mortensen, Oscar de la Renta and Christophe Decarnin. Since 2011, the head designer is Olivier Rousteing.




We find a lot of retro and floral prints in the collections and there's a lot of leather pieces. The clothes are extravagant but still pretty and wearable. Some of their jackets and dresses are real pieces of art because of all the details. I really love their studded jackets. The studs, the pearls and the pins are all organized on the back and on the sleeves and it give the jacket a grunge look. You can have it in denim and in red leather. I prefer the denim one because you can wear it with a lot more things than the other coat and because it is more my style than the red leather one.









I don't know Balmain since a log time but i have two favorite outfit from their collections that i really love. The first one is from the Balmain fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection. I remember cutting a picture of this jacket in a magazine and put it on my board with other fashion pictures that i love. I don't really like the shirt bellow because i think it gives a too much masculine look. The jacket already have a masculine shape so i would put nothing bellow it. All the details on it are very beautiful and i would be afraid to wear it just in case on of the pearl fall.

The other look i like is the look 21 from the Balmain resort 

2013 collection. I especially like the pants. Right now i'm really into pants, whether it's jeans, velvet, leggings, printed, colorful or dark. These printed pants are perfect because it have everything i like. First, they are skinny. Second, i wanted for a while striped black and white pants and floral ones. It have all that i wanted in one pair of trousers. The shirt and the vest are also something i would wear. Finally, most of my clothes are in dark colors so it really suits my style.
