Calla Haynes
Calla Haynes was born in Toronto and has been living in Paris for the last 10 years. She was a finalist for the prestigious ANDAM award, France’s largest prize for young fashion designers, in 2010, 2011, and 2012. She was also a finalist for the Dorchester Fashion Prize in 2012. She created her fashion line Calla in 2011. I will present some looks form her collections.
Haynes is know for her original prints. It's really rare if there isn't patterns on one of her looks. Women love her because of her sheer, flowy textiles and of course because of her unique and pixelated prints. To show an example of her outrageous patterns, the first picture was my favorite look of her Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection. This geometric pattern all over the suit is a trend right now. I have seen many floral suits in stores like Topshop and Asos and i wanted one for a long time. When i was looking through her Spring 2012 Ready-To-Wear collection, her first collection ever for her brand Calla, i felt in love with this dress. I wanted one like this for my prom but i never found a dress that look like that so i gave up. It's so pretty with the black veil and i would definitely buy this if i had the money for.
My favorite collection of her is the Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection. There were a lot of different prints like feathers and tie dye. I also liked a lot the navy blue color mixed with a pale blue one. On the first picture, the dress is perfect for summer and i already imagine it paired with black converse. I love the socks of the third outfit. I'm currenlty searching for a pair like these for summer. And finally, the top of the last look is so pretty. Even if i have seen a lot of peplum top, this one is original with the feather print and i like the way the feathers are falling at the end. It's shorter compared to other peplum tops and i like it.
