10 Favorite Fashion Houses: Chanel

My first article is about my ten favorite fashion houses. It's not in order.

Chanel

Chanel is a fashion house founded by Gabrielle Chanel, known as Coco Chanel in 1908-1910. The first shop was a hat store and with the year, it became more and more elaborate. Today, the main designer for this high fashion brand is Karl Lagerfeld who holds this job since 1983.

I like Chanel because it’s a classic. Everybody knows this brand even the guys. I love the fact that throughout the years, the clothes and the accessories remained faithful to the brand: chic and feminine.

There’s a lot of Chanel’s item that have crossed the ages like the little black dress. Coco Chanel introduced it in a time between the wars, when the bright colors, prints dominated the fashion. Today, almost every woman has a little black dress in there closet. It’s chic, elegant, classic, and you can never go wrong with it. Another classic of Chanel is the famous Chanel No. 5 perfume. It’s Chanel’s first perfume and it was launched by Coco Chanel on May 5, 1921. It’s the most famous perfume in the world. Chanel classic flap bag is my favorite item of Chanel. It’s still a ‟It” bag and many celebrities have several bags like this one in their wardrobe.

The last collection of Chanel was the Chanel's Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear runway. My two favorite look were the look 23 and 73. I love the oversize coat, which is a big trend this spring. It was also a trend last fall and last winter. The bright red of this coat will add color to any boring outfit and make it look trendy. The floral dress of the second look is romantic and perfect for the beach and night out. During the day you can pair it with some gold sandals and when the night come, you just        have to change your sandals for black platform and a leather jacket. I would definitely wear a dress like this in summer.
