10 Summer Trends: All White

All white

While graphic prints and bright colors are a trend this summer, their opposite is also something trendy.  Indeed, wearing white head-to-toe is going to be very popular for the fashionistas. We can find this trend in 2013 runway shows of designers like John Cavalli, Victoria Beckham, DKNY and many others.

I will present a casual/edgy look and then a more chic look for this last post about summer trends. I would wear both outfits even if they are completely different styles. I started with a cropped jersey shirt from Victoria Beckham. I like the shape of it. I then added these fabulous Zalando crosses denim shorts. I want them so badly. To add other colors than white, i paired the look with this chunky chain necklace and the Tilly's olsen woman boot that looks like Dr. Martens. I think this outfit is perfect for any activities with your friends this summer.

For this more chic look, i decided to take this Rick Owens cotton maxi skirt. I haven't did an outfit with a maxi skirt yet even if i love these long skirts. So when i thought of an all white outfit, i immediately wanted to have a look with a maxi skirt in it. I paired it with this pretty front tie-up shirt. Because the skirt is high waisted, we are maybe going to see just a little bit of skin between the skirt and the shirt which is perfect. And finally, i wanted a hint of color and not a black pair of shoes because it would have looked boring and not that pretty. So these Lori's frayed madison sandals are perfect and i love the  blue color.

10 Summer Trends: Graphic Print

Graphic print

It is definitely the season of the print. Fall/summer 2013 runway shows were booming with graphic and ethnic prints in shocking neon colors, tie-dyes, bleeds and monochromes. Everything from fruit prints to animal prints are a trend this season.

I have seen this Bart Simpson crop top everywhere on blogs and on tumblr. A lot of celebrities wore this shirt and Jeremy Scott (the designer of these shirts) created also sweater and skirts in the same pattern. Because it's a shirt that can be very masculine, i decided to put it with a Naf Naf Kouba pleated skirt that is very feminine. That way, it creates a balance between the two styles. I wanted to have a more feminine look so instead of wearing it with flats, i opted for these Dollhouse Caged Wedges that aren't too chic so it gives more a casual look.

Finally, i found these Neely's savannah moonjava black shorts and i immediately felt in love. Since last year i love stars pattern and i even have a blouse with this print on it. So when i saw these shorts i had no choice but added them into my post. I paired it with a floral zip bralet top that i don't know from where it's from. I wanted to have a lot of different patterns and colors so that's why i chose this top. Then, the Vans atwood trainers in grey are just finishing well the outfit and are different from the classical black and white ones.

10 Summer Trends: Neon Accessories

Neon accessories

While 2012 was all about neon, 2013 is a little less neon obsessed. Do not get it wrong, neons are still as strong as ever, but instead of wearing head-to-toe neon, the current trend is the add of this bright color in accessories like shoes, bags or jewellery. Plus, with monochrome taking over, neon accessories are a great way to add hints of color in your black and white outfit.

Because monochrome is a big trend right now and because i think that neon looks the greatest when it's worn with black and white,  my next two outfits will all be black, white and neon. I decided to go with a chic look so i started by picking up the Oasis pixie leather skirt and then put it with this Jane Norman cap sleeve crop top. Just like that, the look may look boring. So that's why neon accessories are there for. These Kate Spade New York licorice patent heels are lightening up the outfit.

I mentioned in my 10 Summer Trends: Overalls that dungarees are certainly something i love and i want a pair for this summer. So when i found this 2020 Ave faux leather overall, i was very happy. Everything in it is pretty and there's not a thing i don't like. I paired it with a normal white t-shirt and then with Sole Society tate heels that i found very pretty. I like the big straps at the ankle and the fact that it's a filled heel. Lastly, the neon accessorie here is a neon cuffed beanie from American Apparel that makes the outfit looks good.

10 Summer Trends: Pastel

Pastel

Feminine, flattering, and cute, pastels are a fashion staple. This season they’re a key trend.  Many designers decided to incorporate this trend in their collection and they prove that pastel doesn't necessary mean cute young little girl.

These vintage Levis high waisted denim shorts are the item i found immediately when i was searching for pastel shorts. I like that they are ombre, the fact that they are high waisted and also how it's distressed at the end. Then, i find this Jonathan Saunders holographic striped top a long time ago and i was waiting to match it with a perfect bottom. I love holographic pattern and i remember seeing this shirt in his Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection among other holographic pieces. I finally paired this outfit with white converse all-star shoes that are just perfect and goes with everything.

For this last outfit, the pastel item is the River Island lime double layered V neck crop top. It's very feminine and cute so i decided to pair it with this Rag & Bone highclare leather shorts that are just amazing. Not a long time ago, while i was on the Internet, i saw a girl wearing a pair of shorts that looks like these (with the lace details a the end) and i immediately wanted shorts like that. Plus, yellow and black look great together and these two pieces are just meant to be worn at the same time. Finally, i thought that Azzedine Alaia's studded open suede low boots would look so great with the look.

10 Summer Trends: Pencil Skirt

Pencil skirt

I don't think pencil skirts really ever go out of style, but they are certainly on-trend for this Spring and Summer 2013. I saw many pencil skirts on the runway for the Fashion Week and we find them in different styles and imaginative shapes.

The first outfit is a chic one. I wouldn't wear it for a very gallant event but it's still elegant and it can also be worn during a normal day. This Alexander Wang pencil skirt is very original compared to the other we can find in stores. The cut out at the end is something i never saw before. Except for the white pencil skirt with cut out that Rihanna wore for a show at American Idol. I didn't want a strict look so i put this Billabong don't be scared tank that makes the outfit more young and casual. I like the fact that it's not too long so you don't need to tucked it in the skirt. Finally, i thought that the Van Mildert ankle straps sandals would be great because of the vibrant orange color that add a fun touch to the look.

Secondly, i chose this Fair + True peplum skirt in pink. Until now, i thought that peplum was only for a top. But it started to appear in skirts and i really like it. It gives some curves and definitively gives a great look when you wear it. I paired it with a Mara Hoffman bustier top that has a great pattern on it. I like the mix of prints and colors between the top and the bottom. I finally added some black converse that makes the look more edgy and with an American Apparel cuffed beanie hat that fits perfectly with the outfit.

10 summer Trends: Tropical Print

Tropical print

Hawaiian prints will come into full bloom in Spring/Summer 2013. Whether it's hibiscus flowers, birds of paradise, whimsical hummingbirds or palm leaves, tropical prints are absolutely fabulous and i really like this trend.

The first outfit is perfect for a chic but not too chic diner. It can also be worn for a normal day at work or any other relax activities. The principal item here is the Michal Kors tropical palm print t-shirt. I love palm sleeves print and this one is my perfect idea of this pattern. If you wear it tucked in this Miss Selfridge black leather skater skirt, it will be a perfect look in my eyes. I envy this outfit so much. Then to add more perfectness to this outfit, i chose the Jimmy Choo Thi perforated leather sandals that i really love.

The second look is really more casual and edgier than the first one. The tropical item is this Forever 21 tropical print bustier. I really like bustier and tight cropped top right now and i'm planning to buy one in a near future. This one is great because of the print and also the way it's made. I prefer bustier that are more rigid (like this Forever 21 one) than the ones that are more soft. You all know that high waisted shorts are my life, so these vintage Levis black high waisted shorts are something that really appeals me. When you wear a short top like that, you have to wear a high waisted bottom with it because you don't want to look inappropriate. I thought that this Homies black beanie and these Vans atwood sneakers would be perfect for this look.

10 Summer Trends: Oriental Print

Oriental prints

Traditional Eastern prints are given a Western turn next season, with hints of Hanoi, Beijing and Tokyo coming through in Asian-inspired prints. Discover fire dragon, lotus flower, peony and hibiscus motifs in prints which comes from the other side of the world.

When i started my search of oriental print clothes on the site Polyvore (where you can create outfits), i didn't think i would find a lot of pretty pieces. Surprisingly, i discover these River Island pink oriental shorts that are so cute and high waisted, which is a must for me. I didn't want to have a to girly look so i paired it with La Garçonne cropped muscle tee that will create a more edgy and casual look. To had more style, i decided to put a Boy London snapback and some Zalando high top sneakers.

The next outfit is more girly and chic. I chose this Zara oriental print crossover top. I never liked crossover top like this. I thought it was for older woman. But this one is so pretty and i would certainly buy it. You just have to put a pale beige or white tank top below it or a bandeau. Then, i came across these Rebecca Minkoff leather shorts. I'm in love with them. They are so original because of the asymmetrical cut at the end and i also like that they can be both chic and casual at the same time. I finally decided to finish the  outfit with the Saint Laurent Paris triple ankle straps pumps. These are my favorite kind of heels and they go perfectly with the look.
